HAIR TIPS

SEXY HAIR = HEALTHY HAIR
At Style Bar we carry the entire GHD Thermodynamics Range. This includes brushes, GHD irons, and the whole hair styling line from shampoo to hairspray.

SHAMPOO and CONDITIONER:

  • Choosing the most suitable Shampoo and Conditioner is easy with GHD. They have products to suit all hair types, from weak and damaged to coloured hair. Using the correct shampoo and conditioner will ensure your hair always looks its very best.

TREATMENTS:

  • GHD has a large range of Treatments. Leave in to weekly masks.

Remedy Cream is a daily leave in conditioner
Miracle mist is a daily conditioning spray perfect for dry or curly tangle hair.
Rescue drops are a pack of 7 weekly leave in treatments.
Indulgence treatment is a weekly conditioning mask
All of these treatments, (plus plenty more) will help to get you dry damaged hair back to its very best condition, or help top maintain the healthy hair you have.

PROTECTION:

  • The most important tip to healthy hair is PROTECTION.

Use a protector spray before heated styling: GHD Thermal Protector is heat activated and helps guard the hair against heat damage while locking in moisture and nutrients.

  • When styling hair, try working in sections. This will ensure your hair ends up smooth and not tangled.

STYLING TIPS:

  • Ensure hair is completely dried, roots to end before using your GHD (or any) stylers/straighter. NEVER wet to dry. Again do this working in section, making sure you don’t miss any pieces of hair.
  • Want volume? Try GHD Uplift Spray and Maximise Mousse.
  • Uplift Spray is for root volume, so you can apply extra body right where you need it. Follow by Scrunching Maximise Mousse through the rest of your hair then blow dry, then style as desired. This can also be applied directly to dry hair then blasted dry for that extra bit of volume or when you don’t have time to blow dry.

TO FINISH:

  • To give you hair that glossy, movie Star Shine Finish, Try GHD Shining Serum or Reflection Spray Final Shine. Both products are sparingly applied to blow dried or completed styles to add a glossy maximum shine finish.
  • All GHD products are heat activated and will protect your hair from snapping and heat damage. The products help in achieving the look you want without too much time or hassle.

 

MAKEUP TIPS

At Style Bar, we have our very own make up range. Style Bar Cosmetics (SBC). Our product is made in Canada and is of the highest quality.

BASE: (SBC Flawless Finish Foundation or Loose Mineral Foundation.) Make sure foundation is the correct shade for your skin. You may be a different colour in winter to summer.

  • Ensure skin is clean and moisturised before applying any makeup.
  • Use a face primer (SBC Camera Ready). This reduces appearance of lines, smoothes skin and will stop dry patches.
  • When applying foundation less is more. Start by using small amounts and blend out well over ears, down jaw line and neck, and into hair line. Build foundation up until desired effect is achieved. Apply a small amount of loose/pressed power after foundation and concealer.
  • Use concealer (not more foundation) to cover up imperfections. Concealer should be 1-2 shades lighten than your skin tone.
  • Carry a pressed powder/compact (SBC Duo, pressed foundation/powder) to blot oily patches and touch up through out day.

EYES: (SBC Eye shadow, mineral shadow, eye liner and waterproof eyeliner)
Tip: White eyeliner (SBC White Kohl) applied to the inner eye line will make eyes appear larger and more lively. After applying blink a few time for eyeliner to blend.
Black eyeliner (SBC Black Kohl) is great for a dramatic night look, however if you have small eyes don’t apply to the inner eye line as it can make your eyes appear smaller.

Tip: When applying dark shadow (SBC Fig/ Carbon), 1st apply a line of loose transparent powder right up under the eye (above cheekbones) this must be quiet thick. Apply your shadow and when finished, in a quick sweeping motion using your powder brush. Dust off the excess powder. This catches all the falling dark shadow, stopping it ending up under your eyes.

  • Apply lightest colour eye shadow (SBC Shiver) over the eyelid and blend up to the brow bone-no higher. Define the crease with a medium/darker shade (SBC Film Nior) depending on desired effect. Always remember to blend well!
  • To make eyes stand out and look more lively apply a small amount of a light shade shadow or shimmer (SBC Purest or Lustre) in the inside corner of each eye and blend out.
  • To make eyes open, use a lash curler or try our WASP false lashes.

 

BLUSH: Is applied to apples of the cheeks. If you’re not sure where this is; smile and it is the roundest part of your cheeks. Alternatively you can bend upside down for a few seconds, when you stand the pink parts of your cheeks is where the blush will look most natural. Blend blush out and along cheek bones. Choose a colour that suits you skin tone, blush is meant to look subtle and like a natural flush of colour. Start with a small amount only and dust excess off your brush before applying.

LIPS: Always keep lips conditioned. (SBC Lip Conditioner)
Tip: Exfoliating lips, for smooth lips use a soft damp toothbrush and gently brush your lips to help remove any dry hard skin. Be very gentle as you can bruise your lips.

  • Using lip liner will create plump, defined, noticeable lips. Apply this before your lipstick and gloss. (SBC Lipstick, Lip Gloss, Lip Glaze)

 

Tip: Lipstick on teeth….. NO! NO! NO!: After applying lipstick put your index finger in your mouth close down your lips and slowly pull you finger out. This will remove the lipstick that would have ended up o your teeth.
